Jobing Description
Part-time Event Assistant/Manger-on-Duty for Special Events. To help with the planning and preparation of weddings, conferences, business meetings, birthday parties, etc.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparation and coordination of standard one page service contract.
* Handling telephone calls to contact person to follow-up and organize details.
* Scheduling staff and coordination as necessary for setup and teardown for the events.
* Welcoming attendees and being a good host by making guests feel welcome.
Must be:
Computer literate and proficient in MS Word and Excel Good planning and hospitality/customer service skills 1-3 years experience in planning, coordinating and setup for special events preferred
Skills / Requirements Must be willing to submit to a background check and a drug screen per our policy.
Approximately 25 hours per week Must be willing to work flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Looking for a total event planner from A to Z that will assist in conceiving, organizing, and executing special events such as corporate receptions, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, and bar/bat mitzvahs. Your job will be to pursue leads via phone/email and to explain the benefits of how our company can assist the perspective client in making the event both memorable and affordable. You will learn how to custom design an event to suit a customers’ needs and budget. You will be the mouthpiece for the client when it comes to ordering flowers, hiring a band and photographer, finding a caterer, etc.

Salary Range: $16.00 an hour plus commission on planned events.

Qualifications:

-A pleasant demeanor and phone voice presence to call perspective clients.

-Be able to multi-task and able to remain calm in the face of adversity.

-Networking is a must, along with making new connections with vendors/venues.
